My attempt at Project LIfe

I have been wanting to do Project LIfe for quite some time now. Last year I bought a few packages of the Design A photo pocket pages and some of the journaling cards, but I never went any farther than that, of course, I was taking care of a newborn and my five year old while my husband was deployed, so time was not on my side. I have been reading many posts and checking out various blogs regarding Project Life. I finally got the motivation I needed to get going on this great way to preserve family memories. I am not too far behind to start an album for this year, so that is the direction I am headed. My plan, eventually, is to document what happens by week. Each two page spread will contain the photos and journaling from Sunday through Saturday for every week. However, since, I want to get caught up, I decided to January by month, instead of trying to separate the pics I took by week. I was really excited to learn that the kit pieces are available digitally at This gives me a variety of options when it comes to journaling, and adding images to the journaling cards and filler cards. I have a Silhouette, so I can print the cards and then cut them out with my digital cutter. Here are my first four pages:

I am not a big fan of my handwriting, but I think it gives my pages a more personal touch than if I were to create the journaling on a computer and print it out. I love the versatility of this type of memory keeping. I can add other styles of photo pocket pages and I can even include the occasional traditional 12x12 layout. I am just really excited, because I finally got pictures off my phone/computer and in to some type of memory album. Some of my pictures are not the greatest, but it isn't always about how good the photo looks, it's about capturing the moment! I look forward to sharing more of my project life album as I add to it. I also plan on doing similar "baby" albums for each of my children, to include certificates, schoolwork, artwork etc. Thanks for stopping by!
